1. Karunkuruvai (Low Glycemic Index. Rich in Iron, Calcium and Zinc. Suitable for use as a table rice and also for Aappam)
2. Kattuyanam (Has very high Potassium, Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc and Phosphorus)
3. Kullakar (Low Glycemic Index variety, Rich in iron and zinc. Suitable for Idlis)
4. Kuzhiyadichan (High Calcium variety. Rich in Antioxidants and Calcium. Suitable for Porridge and Sweet Pongal)
5. Mappillai Samba (Low Glycemic Index variety, Rich in fibre. Suitable for use as a table rice, and for idlis and dosas)
6. Poovan Samba (Very high in Potassium and Magnesium and rich in minerals like iron, phosphorus and calcium)
