Red Rice and Chiroti Rava
VERMICELLI UPMA PREPARATION METHOD:
- Dry Roast 1 Cup Vermicelli on a low to medium flame until light and slightly golden.
- Pour ½ tablespoon oil and fry 2 to 3 tablespoon Peanuts keep it seperate
- Now add 1 tablespoon Oil and fry.
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, ¼ teaspoon mustard, 1 teaspoon channa dal, 1 teaspoon urad dal. Fry all until the lentils become golden, do not burn them.
- Then add curry leaves, 1 slit green chilli and one small chopped onion
- Saute until onions turn golden and add hing and fine chopped ginger till all turn aromatic
- Pour 1 ½ cup of water into a pan and ½ teaspoon salt, the water has to be slightly salty
- Bring water to rapid boil then add vermicelli and mix very well
- Cover and cook on a low flame until all the water is absorbed and vermicelli is cooked
- Turn off the heat and cover the pan and keep it aside for atleast 10 minutes the sprinkle some coriander leaves and fresh grated coconut.
